MAVERICK VOLLEYBALL CLUB WILL HAVE CLUB TEAMS FOR THE 2023-2024 SEASON, AND WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE ARE RETURNING TO USAV AND THE OVR! READ THE INFORMATION BELOW TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR PROGRAM AND HOW TO JOIN.

 

TO JOIN A TEAM, FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW: 

1. Determine which age group your daughter/son qualifies for (info below)
2. Attend our open gyms and pre-tryout camps
3. Register for and attend July tryouts (registration is now open at the link above)
4. Once you register additional information will be provided.

 

1. DETERMINE AGE GROUP

Age definitions are set by the USAV and the OVR (governing bodies). Some athletes may qualify for two different age groups, depending on their DOB and grade. 

Example: A player was born on July 1, 2009, but is in the 7th grade. She qualifies to play on the 14’s National, American and Regional division teams (because of her DOB), as well as the 13’s Regional division teams (because of her grade).

2. OPEN GYMS & CLINICS

We will be hosting a variety of pre-tryout camps, open gyms, and pre-tryout individual lessons and group lessons. Contact Liddia Nie at coachliddia@gmail.com for more information.

 

3. GET TO KNOW US

Before trying out for a club team, we suggest attending a camp or clinic to make sure your daughter/son enjoys playing with Maverick! Please come by and visit us, all open gyms and clinics are open to anyone and everyone of eligible age!

4. TYPES OF CLUB TEAMS

Maverick offers three divisions/levels of teams: 

1. National
2. American
3. Regional

 

5. ATTEND TRYOUTS

Everyone must attend tryouts to play on a team. You must register with the OVR for a tryout membership and also register through our website prior to attending tryouts.

Age groups: Determined by both grade and DOB, age groups are defined by USA Volleyball. SEE CHART BELOW

Registration: Is Open

 

To register online for tryouts click on the link shown above at the top of the page.  You will be required to pay at the time of registration when you register online.  There will be a very small fee charged in addition to the $20 fee.  You can then bring your confirmation email in when you show up for tryouts, either electronically or printed .  There will be no registration at the door on tryout dates as in the past.  Registration and tryout fee payment is online ONLY through the Sportsengine link above.  

(Note: if you are already contracted with an early contract, there is no charge for tryouts and you do not need to register.  Early contracts will be offered starting June 1)

(Note: There are two 18's categories because players who were born on or after July 1, 2005 (who are defined as 18 and under by the USAV age definition) and are in the 11th grade for the current academic year are waivered to compete in 17 and under if they wish)
