Established
in 1996, The Maverick Volleyball
Club was founded by Lee Beaumont and Jim
BeHarry. Competition began in 1997 with
four club teams. By
1999 we had four teams place gold or silver
in the Ohio Valley Region Club Championships.
By 2004 Maverick Volleyball Club had grown
to sixteen teams. Since 2004- 2007 the history
of champions has grown. Maverick has placed
13 teams in the top 10 in overall standings.
14 teams in the Gold or Silver bracket of
the Ohio Valley Regional Championships.
Our most valued accomplishment to date is
qualifying two teams to the National Championships
in 2006 and 3 teams to the National Championships
in 2007.
Our Mission:
The
Maverick Volleyball Club is a locally known,
competitive program committed to a "Total
Club Concept" emphasizing education
of both the players and the parents regarding
the role of sports throughout one's life.
Maverick
Volleyball is dedicated to volleyball excellence
while developing players to pursue opportunities
beyond their high school level.
We,
the coaches, athletes, parents and other
members of the Maverick Volleyball Club
want to share the mission of creating and
supporting a program that has a profoundly
positive effect on young athletes within
the context of competitive volleyball. We
believe our Club helps young athletes develop
skills that will help them with "life"
by teaching them to set challenging, but
achievable goals. We help our athletes attain
their goals by fostering a personal commitment
to support each other and work as a team,
requiring diligence, perseverance and discipline.
